This verse was not removed by the bishops, but rather words incorrectly added to this verse, was prevented from being added again. East of the note in the New Jerusalem Bible, Regular Edition – No, of course, led by 15 bishops of whom you are talking about: "The words in italics (not in any of the principles of Gk MSS, or any of the first translations, or at best MSS of the Vg.) Are probably a gloss which has crept into the text. "In other words, these words do * not * appear in the original Greek texts, in the first translations of Greek texts, or even the original Bible, the Vulgate!
