what version of the Jewish Bible is approved by jewish rabbi in christian editions?
I know the new christian editions have restored some things like young woman instead of virgin.. the new bibles are not following the King James.
Sorry but it *is* a difficult language. One dot can change the whole meaning. Much harm has been done by people with a year or two of Bible-Hebrew training, who then presume to think they fully understand what they read.
No translation is as good as the original Hebrew, every translation forfeits some of the meaning.
The best English translation currently available is the Artscroll-Stone edition. The JPS is more poetic to read, but not as accurate.
