Sale of cemetery plots?
My dad bought eight plots in the cemetery in 1955 and only paid $ 75 for them all. My father died in 1990 and now I am writing to the cemetery. The plots are in Ohio, and I live in Georgia. Now I have four plots on the left but I want to sell the plots, but really do not know how since I'm in Georgia. My husband told me to put on the Internet, but I'm sure that cost me some money for a website. I can not trust any to sell on the Internet since I am the one with the deed. How will I sell and how much can I sell to? They were cheap when my father bought, how much sold now?
Nancy, and I do not know what the actual price will be a rhythm today, I would call a local funeral home and ask them what their current price is, for lots of the same size. Then I would call a funeral home in Ohio and asked them the same, you never know who can take them from their hands as well. The main is to call the area of lots and find the local price, depending on the location of lots, may have more value than another. Make sure to call more than one place and never take the first offer. Especially if you offer a price really fast, it means you probably know they can get a good price themselves. $ 75 seems really cheap. It is necessary to note that some of the cemeteries are not maintained as well as others. Take all these things in mind when trying to sell yours. You need to register in the state or county where you are trying to sell. I would say the only way these would sell on eBay. I have provided some links that might be useful. Thank Rag37:):)
