Why so many people confuse "verbal" and "oral"?
Something that is "verbal" is expressed in words. You can writing or orally, but as it is in words, is verbal. Something that is "oral" is expressed, whether or not words. A baby cries orally, but not necessarily verbal. I hear these words wrong all the time – perhaps a product of the media. However, there is an exception, as most people seem to have now – "No verbal communication. This agreement covers the posture and gestures, which are, by definition, is not expressed in words, and so is a perfect use of the word "verbal". What are your thoughts? [Please bring something constructive. And of course you "verbal", unless you can paste a image somehow. : O)] are even lie on "stand" vs. "podium" and his / no / you are. Grrrrrr.
