What 2007 Holds for Bible Prophecy

Dr. Alfred Adams author of the best selling book Nearing Midnight and television host of the fast popular growing show, made a lot of eyes pop out with his show this week. “We have seen Israel literally blossom in these “last days”. From 1948, when Israel declared independence, to 1967, when Jerusalem saw the end of over 2500 years of Gentile rule. But what promise did God make to the generation that would see Israel reborn? That generation shall not pass until all these things are fulfilled. Friends, we are the generation that has seen Israel reborn, and Jerusalem’s captivity ended. Therefore we know, without setting dates, that the Lord’s coming is near at hand, and now is the time to get right with God. The year 2007 falls 40 years after the recapture of Jerusalem, in the 1967 Six Day war. Forty years in Scripture represents the length of a generation.” Dr. Adams said.

Luke 21:32

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

“I don’t know for certain whether 2007 will be the long awaited Rapture or not, and that you would know why I can never know that. But a lot of prophecy is being fulfilled, and even though the Lord could delay His coming if that was His will, the years 2007 to 2013 seem to be coming up again and again in the news media as prophetically significant. I will briefly list some of those reasons”. Dr. Adams stated.

The year 2007 should see the ratification of the European Constitution, fulfilling Scripture, creating the role of a EU President and Foreign Minister, or the “prince” of the people of Rome (Daniel 9:26). The European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), a seven year stability agreement with the EU and 16 Middle East nations, of which Israel was first to sign, lasts from 2007-2013. Javier Solana, the High Representative of the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy is responsible for this policy (the prince of the people?). This agreement is to be confirmed with all nations in January 2007 (Daniel 9:27). The ENP also has a mid-term review period, similar to the covenant mentioned in the book of Daniel.

Iran is expected to possess enough enriched Uranium to produce a nuclear weapon by around 2009-2010 (also here), if not by 2007, with knowledge on how to build a bomb already obtained on the black market. Russia and China are heavily involved in Iran’s nuclear programme. Diplomacy has failed catastrophically in regards to Iran, and President Ahmedinejad is actively seeking war with Israel and the West. Israel is expected to take matters into its own hands, possibly fulfilling the prophecy of a Russian/Muslim invasion of Israel within months if not years, as foretold in Ezekiel 38-39. Ezekiel stated this war would occur in the “latter days”, possibly just prior to the beginning of the tribulation period. The EU is working towards implementing its 2010 Headline Goal, a military response group capable of being launched anywhere within the world in 5 to 10 days. If the years 2007-2013 turn out to be the tribulation period, the EU will have a force capable of fulfilling the Antichrist’s invasion of the Middle East after the covenant fails (Daniel 11:40-45).

The European Union hopes to have its Battle Groups concept, similar to the idea of the old Roman Legions, up and running by 2007. Thirteen Battle Groups are to be operational by 2010. Each Battle Group consists of around 1500 troops from one or more nations. The EU is also working towards launching a new global communications system by 2010, called GMES, and will “provide authorities with necessary elements for a European Security and Defence Policy”. Europe is well on its way to becoming a world military power. The British government will implement a compulsory national identification card system by 2010. Many other nations are considering implementing a similar scheme. This mandatory national identification scheme will be a precursor to the introduction of the Mark of the Beast, possibly an implantable RFID tag.

EU Action Plan agreed on improving animal welfare within the European Union, for the period 2006-2010. Could the renewal of this document be the one that causes the sacrifice and oblation to cease, halfway through the Antichrist’s reign? (Daniel 9:27) The EU is aiming to implement numerous free trade agreements across the world by the year 2010, which will no doubt boost Europe’s political influence across the globe. Someone once said, control energy and you can influence governments, control food and you can influence the individual. The European Union started out as a simple European Coal and Steel Community pact, where European nations agreed to pool their energy resources. The North American Union, a regional government which Mexico, the US and Canada are setting up, is starting off as a simple trade and security pact. We have no reason to believe we can expect anything less from these free trade agreements.

Even if 2007 doesn’t turn out to be the Rapture, rest a sure the world is well on its way to fulfilling end times prophecy as foretold in Scripture. Bible prophecy is no longer vague and something for the next generation to worry about, it’s happening here and now. The rebirth of Israel in 1948 and the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967 are seen as the most important signs of all that the End of the Age is upon us. Nothing can equal watching the Word of God proceed from abstract to concrete as we see Bible Prophecy fulfilled before our very eyes. If you listen carefully, you can almost hear the Footsteps of the Messiah.

Dr. Alfred Adams

Teaching from his book Nearing Midnight, Dr. Adams’ dynamic approach and in-depth study truly brings the Word of God to his audience. His bold and attractive visual teaching style stems from years of experience in the music industry, reaching back to 1992, when Dr Adams toured with some of the biggest rock bands in the world – bands such as Guns-n-Roses, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chill Peppers, Sound Garden, Peter Frampton, and Ice Cube, to name just a few. Dr. Adams also worked at Paisley Park Studios (Prince’s studio) as an intern sound engineer.

Making use of the wealth of skills he learned in music industry, Dr. Adams fine-tunes his teachings with sixty-inch screens to display the book of Revelation – chapter by chapter -in order to take his audience on a complete journey.

Dr. Adams’ experiences also took him to the realm of banking from 1997 until 2004, linking projects that sought capital with the best interest rates from investors around the world. Dr. Adams was nominated for the Ernst & Young award two years in a row. His sponsorship came from Financial Consultant Mr. Evan Gomes of Merrill Lynch. Later, his business volume earned recognition that found him featured on CNN Money and US NEWS. The company did on average $2.5 billion dollars annually in business deals. In 2002 the company broke into a new level of financial freedom when it hit $3.7 billion dollars of business that year. Dr. Adams also launched an Internet magazine that would help architects and engineers understand how financial projects are put together. The first issue alone generated $200 million in new business.

An avid philanthropist, Dr. Adams frequently visited the New Orleans Children’s Hospital, bringing gifts and care to the patients.

With the death of his fiancé to suicide after she lost both of her parents and a brother in a quick series of events, Dr. Adams began a study of biblical prophecy that has reshaped his life in an irreversible way. He knew that faith, hope, peace, and most of all love were essential to the Bible and its account of all things; he knew them as ideas, but it was not until this great tragedy struck that these aspects of Christianity leaped off the page into reality to be known by experience.

In the wake of his father’s death in 2004, Dr. Adams wrote Nearing Midnight, sold off the banking business, and is now steadfastly committed to do the works that the Lord has led him to do. The book Nearing Midnight is in fifteen countries and in ten different languages. The web site www.nearingmidnight.com is the only Christian web site translated instantly into ten different languages. The site is the hub for Nearing Midnight Radio hosted by Dr. Adams, and the Nearing Midnight online magazine. Dr. Adams also co-hosts the Nearing Midnight TV show, which illuminates world events with the light of biblical prophecy and airs in the Lafayette area to 500,000 households and in Orleans and the surrounding areas to another 450,000 households. Recipient of the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Ministry from Cornerstone Christian College based in Lafayette, Louisiana, for the speaking and sales of the book Nearing Midnight, Dr. Adams was also made an Honorary Louisiana State Representative by Robert Faucheux, Jr. in September 2006. In November 2006, Dr. Adams was also made an Honorary Louisiana State Senator by Louisiana State Senator Nick Gautreaux. This rare award of honorariums from both houses is testament of Dr. Adam’s works. The sequel book Nearing Midnight II is anticipated in early 2007, and a two-part feature film is also in the writing phase.
